During this festival, Virginia Constantine was accompanied by an exceptional quartet: Franck MONBAYLET, pianist, composer and arranger, prize for the best music at the Beijing film festival for Attila Marcel & grand prize of the Charles Cros Academy; Pierre MAINGOURD, Claude Bolling’s double bass player for 20 years; Alexandre THOLLON, virtuoso harmonica player who shared the stage with Didier Lockwood as well as Jean-Luc DAYAN, Claude Bolling’s drummer for 10 years. Virginia Constantine has just recorded a new Jazz EP which will be released in the fall. “As far back as I can remember in my childhood, the first musical sounds I heard were those of a Big Band Jazz and the golden voice of Frank Sinatra. This came from my father Jean Constantin’s music room who was an absolute fan of “Blue Eyes” and later he introduced me to such great singers as Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald. In fact, I learned to sing with Jazz.”
